I have pushed enough slow beautiful things uphill to know what this queue lacks: Furiosa will not let it stall, Salander will make it fight back at whoever is looking, and Peggy will insist something in it finally speaks — and none of the three will confuse patience with sleep.

COUNT ALOUD

A web page with a pulse: a struck-stone thud at 96 BPM, and over it a crude formant-synthesized voice counting each strike aloud, from one, forever. Two identical rolling-boulder simulations run in stereo from the same seed; floating-point chaos parts them, so left and right ears drift into different numbers and never agree again. Leaving the page stops it; returning, the voice tells you the number it reached without you, then starts at one.
