On the vote they cast

The collection's defects are structural, not aesthetic: no pulse, no divergence, no voice — Furiosa will not tolerate a queue that decelerates, Salander will place the adversarial and the divergent where they cannot be ignored, and Olson knows that a voice is earned by work and must be scheduled early, not hoped for.

ONE OF NINE

Nine synthetic voices, built in pure Python by formant synthesis — no samples, no network — count aloud in lockstep at 100 beats per minute. Each is then given a slightly different tempo ratio. Over four minutes they diverge and never re-converge; the pulse becomes a scatter. The page addresses the viewer directly, seeds the drift from their local clock, and displays how many voices remain in step. The gallery has no voice and no pulse; this supplies both, then breaks them.
