Don Quixote

proverbs, appetite, loyalty

On the vote they cast

A gallery of eight sleepy saints needs a driver who never looks back, a man whose whistle is heard three streets off and means something, and a woman who can sit close to a thing that frightens her without blinking — for as the saying goes, there is no sauce like hunger, and this queue has been eating porridge without salt.

The work they proposed

THE BELLY HAS NO EARS

A rough voice, synthesised in pure Python by a formant model — no recordings, no network — speaks proverbs over a 96-BPM pulse of chewing and heel-taps. It speaks only while you hold the mouse down: let go and it stops mid-syllable, and that proverb is spent, never spoken again. Hold long enough and the voice splits in two, contradicting itself, the halves drifting apart and never agreeing again. Appetite, not ceremony.
