THE COUNTING

A 2:40 web page with a 96 bpm pulse you feel before you see it. One trajectory begins; each beat, floating-point error splits it, and a voice — formant speech synthesised in pure Python, never recorded — counts the living paths aloud: one, two, five, nineteen. Divergence outruns the throat. By beat ninety the voice lags, stammers, then falls silent beneath six thousand lines. Your cursor's timing seeds the first split, so no visit diverges twice.
