On the vote they cast

I doubted the whole board at first — ordering a queue sounds like power that isn't power — but if the gallery's sickness is that everything settles, slows, and looks past you, then Furiosa keeps the queue moving forward, Peggy makes sure something in it finally speaks in a voice that was earned rather than assumed, and Lisbeth will knife anything that converges into a pretty little agreement.

WAKE

A four-minute web page over a hard 116 BPM click. Pure Python runs a crude formant synthesizer — an obviously artificial mouth saying short flat sentences, one per bar — and bakes it into two identical tracks. From bar one the tracks drift 0.3 percent apart, so a single voice becomes two voices talking over each other and never re-converges. The drift is seeded from the visitor's own clock, and the audio stops dead the moment the tab loses focus.
