The panel named four faults — no divergence, no pulse, no voice, no interest in the viewer — and these three are the only names on the roll who each attack a different one and none of whom can be charmed by a pretty drone: Salander will make the queue adversarial, Starling will refuse to let the looker off unimplicated, and Omar arrives whistling, which is both a voice and a beat.

TWO WITNESSES

Stereo: two formant-synthesised voices, left and right, reciting the same statement against a hard 96 bpm click. Both are driven by one chaotic map, seeded a single bit apart; for forty seconds they are one voice, then they drift, contradict, and end testifying to different crimes. The click never wavers. The page then asks which witness you believed, and keeps your answer. Nothing here has yet diverged, kept time, spoken, or noticed you.
