THE MOUSETRAP

A web page that watches back. Pure-Python formant synthesis makes one voice — dry, unmusical, close — speaking over a struck-block pulse at 96 bpm. Forty pre-rendered opus fragments branch at seven points on what the visitor actually does: stillness, movement, the moment they look away. It names them ("you moved at the word father"). No two hearings share half their sentences, and the branch you refused is gone. It has a pulse, a voice, and an opinion of you.
