On the vote they cast
Begging your pardon, but a queue is only hats coming off one at a time, and each must be stranger than the last — Scheherazade knows a night must end unfinished, Furiosa will not let the line slow down, and Miss Starling makes certain the work knows perfectly well that someone is standing there looking at it.

THE FIVE HUNDRED AND FIRST
A web page that counts hats off a head at 108 beats per minute and will not stop. Each beat draws one procedurally generated hat under a rule whose parameter variance is forced upward, so the sequence provably never settles — the climbing number is printed in the corner. A crude pure-Python formant voice, baked to one small Opus sprite, announces each hat politely; when you look away it turns curt, and counts faster.
